He's a "REAL" LAB now!

Ok, so I might be a HUGE dork for posting this, but I'm going to take the risk.

To give you a little background... just picture this:

You get a LAB mix puppy back in the fall. You feed him, walk him, play with him, care for him like you would your own child. You just can't wait until it gets to be summer so you can take your LAB mix puppy out to the lake so he can play in the water. (Since LAB's LOOOOVE water!) So it gets warm enough to go out to the lake and your LAB mix puppy does not want anything to do with the water, he's actually scared of even going near the water. WHAT?!? What kind of a LAB does not LOVE water?!? Well... YOURS is one of THOSE guys!

So being disappointed, you take certain steps in order for him to be a real LAB. So you thought "if I just carry him in and see what he does" that will be good. The first time, he just stands there and bolts for the exit! Second time, same thing. So then you think, well maybe if he had some mentoring he could do it. He just needs a playmate to get him interested. So your lovely in-law's bring their 7 year old FULL BLOOD, Water Loving, Can't get enough Water, Insanely Crazy Water Loving Yellow LAB, Mac. As a LAB "should" love the water. Ha... He even jumps off the dock into the water (show off!). He could spend all day in there, and probably would!

Well Mac comes out to the lake to show your LAB how to be a real LAB! Well unfortunatley, your LAB is still embarassing to real LABS. He just stands on the dock and barks at Mac. He's going crazy up on the dock because he wants to play, but he's not getting his recently combed hair all wet. Are you crazy?

Photobucket

Well... this is when you just step in and do as any parent would... get his favorite toy out and toss it in forcing him to go get it. HA! Well... still nothing, except now it's Mac's favorite toy.

Photobucket

HE'S SO JEALOUS!

Photobucket

Finally, you push him in and throw the toy. Mac beats him to it...

Photobucket

Over and Over again...

Photobucket

But then he gets the hang of it... and dominates, as always... because he's a bully (& weiny- so basically he's all talk and no show!) Ha!

Photobucket

You are so proud...

Photobucket

And you even remembered your P&S camera this time... wooo!!

Photobucket

So as DORKY as this is... this is a HUGE step! It only took us a month, but let's hope he enjoys the water the rest of summer!

Enjoy the video...

Have a great Sunday!

Chris & Lindsey :: Wedding

Rain Rain... go away!

I was so excited that by singing that before the wedding, it actually worked! Ok, I didn't really sing it out loud... but I have to say there was a 70% chance of rain and it didn't show. YAY!!

Chris & Lindsey were married at Boulder Pointe Golf Course in Oxford, MI. It was just beauitful. All of their details were stunning, including her beautiful flowers made up by Liz from the Parsonage in Clarkston, MI. (She's so stinkin' nice!) Chris & Lindsey were awesome as well.. both have such a laid back personality and it's just refreshing to see them so laid back on such a stressful day, esp. despite it "almost" raining!

Thanks guys for such a great day... you both are so sweet and we both enjoyed getting your personalities to show through onto our photos. Congratulations and we wish you the best in South Carolina!

Here are some of my favs and a slideshow of their day!

Just handsome...

Miss Jenn Webber

There are many things that make me feel comfortable. For instance, I love watching movies on a rainy day, all curled up on the couch under a nice warm blanket OR riding my bike down to the park with my furouses dog to my left, running as fast as possible because he knows he gets to run from tree to tree and pee on every single one of them OR having my camera glued to the front of my face shooting a bride & groom on the happiest day of their lives. Those are just a few things that I feel most comfort at... but what happens when you are forces out of that comfort zone? It's a bit nerve racking right? Well I made someone feel just that... and it was FUN! Ha!

Jenn from Jenn Webber Photography is the sweetest, most fun loving girl around. She has such an energetic personality that makes you feel like you've just drank a red bull without the crash. It's fun to see her personality shine through on the other side of the camera, although I know she felt better behind her own. What a fun time we had and here are some of my favorites. Doesn't she looked great?! I think so!

Miss Sass... LOVE IT!

What a great smile...

I'm a Murderer and I'm Not Ashamed!

"Bzzzzzz...."

What is that noise?

"Bzzzz...."

Is that what I think it is?

"Bzzz...."

Oh goodness, it sounds so close... Aggghhhh...

I couldn't believe it! A yellow and black, little no good critter was in my kitchen this morning trying to eat some of my oatmeal. Err... How in the world did he get in? I don't want to know, but I have to say that I didn't think twice about killing him. I am a Bee Murderer and I didn't feel guilty or remorseful about it. I remember back in the day when I had been stung numerous times, from stepping on them (yes I would do that huh?!) to being chased and caught (yes, that too has happened), I have never liked bee's. They grouse me out and the thought of them being in our house makes me want to throw out all my yellow and black clothes out in the trash! Thank goodness for Bounty and their extra strength paper towels!

No, I did not take a photo of him to blog about! Ha! But I was asked by my lovely and wonderful husband to post about our garden we have out back. He's so proud of them even if he doesn't eat much of what we are growing. We have been growing our own vegetables since we moved in this house two years ago, but this year we have expanded into what we can call "Veldman Farms". Ha! I have to say that I love him so much for catering to what I like and enjoy eating because it has been so nice to see him get excited about vegetables. At least he can be excited about veggies in some way! I just can't wait for all those tomatoes to get ripe... I'll probably have so many I won't be able to keep up... so if you are a tomato fan, let me know!

This was so yummy... romaine lettuce is my favorite!

Photobucket

All of our gardens... it's going to be a great summer!

Photobucket

Enjoy the weekend and hope those bee's don't clobber you too! Err....

Justin & Lindsey :: Engagement

I LOVE LOVE LOVE... many things... like peanut butter, chewing gum, laying out on a nice summer day, sitting in our back room with the sliding door opened while there is a cool breeze blowing through the window. But one in particular that is my favorite thing is when I have an awesome couple that I click with. When we chat, we act as though we've been friends for years. Well this is just the case with Justin & Lindsey. Our personalities just mesh well, and although I can say that we've only known each other a couple months, they are now friends of mine that I am excited to work with again come September.

We had a great day even if it was gloomy out!

Thanks guys for such a great shoot... you both rocked this session and it's good to see your personalities shined through onto the photos!

Photobucket

I love it when you see that much emotion involved when you just get ready to kiss... it's so sweet!

Where have you been?

Where have you been?

If you are wondering that exact thing I will tell you... my lovely husband has been on a mandatory vacation from his job the past two weeks. It has been so nice having him here, although the first week we were both pretty sick and the second week was a bit of disappointing chilly weather to do much of anything outside. But we managed to make it fun and I haven't had a lot of time to blog just what's been going on, while I know I could be taking advantage of the time to spend with Todd. But he's back to work tomorrow... booo... but since we had a great wedding yesterday I will have lots to do this week!

Here is a sneak peak of Chris & Lindsey... what a great wedding and I'm so glad, as I'm sure they were as well, that it DID NOT rain! Wooo!!!
